“…Molokai is as close as we can get to the ‘real Hawaii,’ where people still live according to the old ways.” Our Aloha Beach House is only a few miles from beautiful Halawa Valley, a vigorous hike through a lush verdant jungle… ending in a magnificent waterfall and pool.
Halawa Falls and the gorgeous pool, perfect for a nice swim.
“We were serenaded by bird song as we walked, passing an ancient burial ground and ruins of stacked-stone structures, walls and temple platforms created by the native Hawaiians hundreds of years ago. After about 90 minutes and two rushing river crossings, we began to hear the roar of the falls, and suddenly, we were there, at the base of the very impressive 250 foot cascade. We swam in the natural pool, and once rested and refreshed, made our way back, having enjoyed not only a wonder of nature, but a glimpse into authentic Hawaiian culture and history that most visitors to Hawaii rarely experience.”
The view of the beach … and Lanai beyond, from the covered lanai.
